(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 13 - Migrant arrivals in Italy have
tripled to 20,000 in 2023, the interior ministry said Monday.
Some 20,017 migrants have landed in Italy this year, more than
three times as many as in the same period in 2022 (6,152), the
ministry said.
The surge was particularly concentrated in the three days 9-11
March, when as many as 4,566 people arrived.
The most represented nationalities are Ivorians (2,410),
Guineans (2,380) and Bangladeshis (1,506). There have been 1,965
unaccompanied minors. (ANSA).
