(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 13 - Italy is against the EU's proposed
Euro 7 measure against polluting cars and new CO2 norms,
Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said at a meeting of
like-minded EU transport ministers taking place in Strasbourg
Monday.
"The Italian government is strongly opposed to the regulation on
Euro 7," said Salvini, who is also deputy premier.
"I would also add my position against the CO2 dossier for light
and heavy vehicles, unless biofuels and synthetic e-fuels are
included".
Salvini also called for an increasing involvement of European
transport ministers, with the aim of sharing common positions
"to protect citizens, jobs and companies". (ANSA).
