(ANSA) - ROME, APR 2 - Ferrari had another dismal day the
Australian Grand Prix with Carlos Sainz finishing 12th after
picking up a five second penalty for touching Fernando Alonso's
Aston Martin, while Charles Leclerc crashed out shortly after
the start.
In a chaotic race with four starts and three red flags, reigning
world champion Max Verstappen in a Red Bull preceded the
Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and the Aston Martin of Alonso.
The race at Melbourne's Albert Park left Verstappen top of the
standings with 69 points, followed by Red Bull teammate Sergio
Perez on 54, Alonso third on 45, Hamilton fourth on 38, and
Sainz fifth on 20.
Leclerc is 10th on six points.
Red Bull sits atop the constructor's table with a whopping 13
points, followed by Aston Martin on 65, Mercedes on 56 and
Ferrari lagging well behind in fourth on just 26 points. (ANSA).
