(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 20 - West Ham wing back Emerson Palmieri
and Cremonese goalkeeper Marco Carsenecchi have come in for
Inter left-back Federico Dimarco and Lazio keeper Ivan Provedel
as injury and flu forced Italy coach Roberto Mancini to make
last-minute changes to the squad for upcoming Euro 2024
qualifiers against England in Naples on Thursday and in Malta on
Sunday.
Monday's start to training at Coverciano was the first Italy
gathering since the death of former delegation chief and ex
Juve, Samp and Chelsea star Gianluca Vialli from ancer at the
age of 58 on January 6.
"It's as if he were here," said Mancini of his former Samp 'goal
twin' and fellow Italy striker, who played a major role in Italy
winning the last Euros in 2020.
"We must try and do well even without him," said the Marche-born
coach. (ANSA).
