(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 20 - There will be more places available
at medical school in Italy starting from next month,
Universities and Research Minister Anna Maria Bernini said on
Monday.
The announced 20-30% increase "will not be random, but based on
the job market", she added, speaking on the sidelines of the
opening ceremony of the academic year in Cagliari.
Bernini said it will also be necessary to review the criteria
for specialisation to avoid a subsequent "bottleneck".
"Life is not a race, we must not be afraid of merit, even
mistakes teach us something", the minister told students taking
their first exams. 'Don't be afraid to make mistakes, you learn
from them,' she added. (ANSA).
