(ANSA) - ROME, APR 2 - Two people died and one seriously
injured in an avalanche that swept over a group of seven ski
mountaineers Sunday morning in Vallelunga, near the Resia Pass
in South Tyrol or Alto Adige, local sources said.
The accident occurred at an altitude of about 2,700 metres on
the Tiergartenspitz peak.
The avalanche hit the group of hikers.
Two ski mountaineers were buried by the snow and were recovered
by the mountain rescue team, already dead.
The injured person was transported by helicopter to Bolzano
hospital.
According to initial information, they were local people. The
Sagf rescue service from nearby Silandro was also on the scene.
