(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 22 - Premier Giorgia Meloni said Wednesday
the government does not want to be told by Europe how it should
achieve its green transition goals.
"We agree that there is a problem and that it needs to be
addressed, we agree with the goals that Europe has set itself on
the green transition," Meloni told the Lower House before this
week's EU summit in Brussels.
"What do we disagree with? That Europe should also tell us what
technologies are needed to achieve these goals," the prime
minister said.
"Net of those goals, I think the challenge facing a nation
challenge is not to destroy its production system," she added.
"In regards to cars, biofuels are a challenge that Italy can
take on, we are at the forefront," Meloni said. (ANSA).
