(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - A 12-year-old girl was taken to
hospital with hypothermia in Palermo after her school heating
broke down on Thursday.
The pupil, in the fifth year of the Emanuel Loi elementary
school, named after a pioneering female escort who died in the
Mafia bombing assassination of magistrate Paolo Borsellino in
1992, started shivering and felt her legs going numb, school
sources said.
She was treated by an emergency crew and rushed to hospital with
hypothermia.
The school's heating system has been KO for several days.
Palermo Mayor Roberto Lagalla said heating would be restored to
the institute on Friday.
The Green-Left alliance said "Italian schools are in this state
and (Defence) Minister (Guido) Crosetto in the meantime
announces 10 billion euros in spending on arms. (ANSA).
